The problem with Steve is that he's perfect! He's never had to deal with addiction, or with domestic problems, he is what you would call--Jesus! And if you are Jesus wouldn't you say: "If you are blameless cast the first stone"...?
OK, so you're blameless, not a problem, but what if you are human? Are you not subject to screwing up? Are you not subject to peer pressure, addiction, hate, sex and all the other influences in your life? And what of the world around you? Does that not contribute to the hell that can be life? Some people are not intellectually capable of proper social skills, it's in there nature and their upbringing (I'm one guilty of that charge), they can not cope with life on life's terms. So should we condemn them? Castrate them? Kill them?
OK, no one is perfect, but the fact that we are human should mean that we are subject to, well, being human? It's not to say that the people who go on Steve's show didn't do wrong, but isn't the fact that they are on the Steve Wilkos Show a possible redemption for their sins? It could be the money they get for their appearance, so they may not care--that could be true, but it does not matter. The fact is that we all fall short at one time or another. And isn't that human?
If I were Steve, I'd really concentrate on the real scum-bags; like the ones failing to teach proper life skills, parents, teachers, peers, or how about the media? Terrorists, or the ones killing the financial situation, or the ones killing the environment! It's OK to blame someone if it's not you. It's so easy! Being human is, in fact, screwed up sometimes. The fact is: life is what it is! and what life is (isn't perfect), is to move on--individual lives are not the big problem, it is just a small part of life! (a big problem of life is the big picture) People that have no flex-ability are the problem! Isn't that true with the terrorists? Isn't it because they have no compassion for the world, or for those who are different, or those who have more, is were the problem lies? They only care about what they care about and the rest of the world is shit! What's up with that? They have no sympathy for anyone, at all. Isn't that it? The ones that are against; there lies the problem! And to do the best of what we do is what is important, isn't it? Even though it comes short sometimes? So Steve, if your taking people down for the sake of ratings (which I think in some part is true), aren't you the one who needs help? One who is part of the problem and not the solution? Is that what is important? Or aren't the people who are at fault the ones who need the most guidance? So, if I was a "scum-bag" (as I believe I am in some ways), as Steve says, then don't I need some kind of help? The victim should be first--but that does not solve the problem, the problem lies with the culprit and we need to solve the problem with the problem at hand--don't you think? To get to be like Steve--Do I really want to be? I believe I do in some ways, but no, I want to be the screwed up me that I am, because I am me, and I am human and capable of compassion, which Steve lacks on a fundamental level. I am capable of being less then perfect. But I also am capable of love, hate, envy, lust, and the list goes on.... Which Steve seems to forget.
So Steve, I'm not against you, nor am I for you, I just think that the perp's
deserve just as much as a chance as the victims, for they are just as much a part
of this screwed up world as we all are, and the only reason they are the way they
are is because of life!
